premium gas?

Recommended Posts

Is there any advantage to running premium gas over 87 octane with a stock banshee? Somebody told me that

"There are guys out there that run their little 2-stroke motors on coleman fuel with an octane of around 50 or they will mix it with 87 to make 70 octane."

wouldnt that cause a ridiculously hot combustion

Ive always run at least 91 in all my toys. You will def notice a difference between 87-93 depending on how its tuned. My old 1991 yamaha exciter 570 wouldnt run on anything under 91 it would just foul plugs. Ive gone to the gas station before put 87 in it and barely made it on the trail without it fouling the plugs, boy was that a long night haha.

My wife once put 87 octane into one of my Jetskis and it ran slower and fouled plugs. I siphoned the tank and put back 94 and all was well in the world again. I find that 2 strokes work best on 91-94 octane
