OMG!!!! THis is the exact same story as me!! Just a few months ago I was dead set on selling my shitbox and buying a 4 stroke! But I am too damn proud to sell my banshee. I bought it for $1800 and blew it up less than 20 mins after getting it home. I put a new top end in it and took it to the dunes and burned it up within a few hours cuz the jetting was not right. Put another top end iin it as soon as I got back and the cylinders were bored wrong and shelled out another top end. Sooo I bought a new set of cylinders and had them ported and another top end. I smoked a clutch and put a new clutch in it. I put a milled head on it and blew a head gasket cuz the waterpump gear had sheered and over heated it. The list goes on and on for me. But ya know what after all of my shit, I still got less money in mine as it would cost ya to rebuild a 4 stroke. I have replaced everything on my banshee except for the crank. I got what I paid for and that was an $1800 bike. Keep in mind, I bought mine in JULY and all of this stuff has happend since that time. Yeah, it gets old, but its a challenge and when its dialed in there is nothing better!! Hell, two weeks ago, CAMATV and I put another head on mine and replaced the headgasket and impeller and as soon as we fire it up it runs for a bit and dies. I had no spark, so we checked all the electrical and finally pulled the stator cover off and the bolt out of the pickup fell out. Its just stupid shit like that that irritates ya and it can all be fixed. Just do it right the first time and DO NOT RUSH anything. KEEP THE DAMN THING!

That stuff is going to wear out on you no matter what bike you have. At least its cheap and easy to fix on the banshee.

X2 Stick with the shee. Parts are endless and cheap as hell. When a 4stroke breaks down on you your looking at some serious down time. They are reliable but like any machine wear and tear will catch up to you. After every ride i do preventive maintenance so on my next run i won't be assed out on my trailer looking at everyone else ride. Banshees are by far the most simple machine i worked on. 4 strokes are a bit more complex because the use of sensors and if your into the EFI 4 stroke theres more shyt to it. So if a banshee get's you frustrated, well you in for a wake up call.

Banshees will only perform on how much attention you show them

everyone has had their share of bad times with a shee but the good times out weigh the bad for sure when i got my frist banshee it was a mess tore all apart sitting outside with water in the base no jugs and the rest was in 10 boxes. It took me a year and a half of top end parts seals and bearing to put all back together to find out what else was wrong. The bike is an 87 i and buddies has spent countless hours and weekends making it right, but u get your first ride without problems u will understand the real reason TO KEEP THE BANSHEE nuff said oh ya keep the shee

Keep the Banshee. Hell I can not think of one single part that has not broke on me over the years. But it just gives me an excuse to improve the machine. Also, a backup bike is a great idea. I have a Blaster and a 250x that I use as a down time bike or a spare for a friend. You can pick up a 250x for practically nothing and 300EX parts swap over so the parts are endless for them and cheap.
