Driggs Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 My BIL is 450 lbs and rode my Banshee a few times. Question is, is he killing my shee? I just put a new crank and top end in and it hauls ass with him on it but.... What do you guys think? Quote
00sheerzr Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 i wouldnt call it bad but its definitly not good i mean i rode a few times with 2 people on my quad and im 230lbs and hes about 170lbs , i would say you suspension is takin a beating lol just dont let him ride it alot Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 with the correct suspension setup along with the right gearing, there is no reason why someone at 450 pounds cant ride a banshee.. i would actually see the suspension as being more of an issue than anything else. Quote

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!! In all seriousness, I've got a buddy who is about 350 (I know, it's not the same as 450) but he rides his shit stock. Bought it in 03, and has had no problems with the stock suspension. It does ride low, and I'd imagine it bottoms out frequently, However, you add another 100lbs to it, and you might run into some issues with tires popping during serious riding. Better run those things at 15psi, rather than 6. Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Banshee's factory rated to 220LBS. So is the Raptor. Yes he's killing your machine...clutch, shocks, subframe....You wouldn't order a Suburban from chevy with a 4 cylinder would you? You need to get him on a 4X4 with a big motor...and on a diet. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Suspension needs to be upgraded for sure. Stock shocks under that kind of load are going to dissapear quick. Quote
Driggs Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 Thanks guys. I was worried because of the 220 lb weight limit it has. I'll make him watch the next time we're riding. I'm sure he'll find something to do. He loves the power so maybe that will be an incentive to loose some weight. Quote
