alright i know there are a million threads on this but most of them i read after i searched were bigger dudes. which leads me to believe rider weight makes a difference.

im 180 lbs. the bike is a stage 4 trinity drag ported cub on a 4 mil cheetah bottom end. Right now i just have 34mm mikuni's but i will most likely be upgrading to some 38 or 39's and alcohol in the very near future. The bike will either have a +8 or +10 roundhouse swinger on it which i havent purchased yet. i cant for the life of me remember which gears im running right now but if needed i can check tonight.

i plan on hillshooting but ALSO duning the bike around as well. i know it will be difficult with the powerband/power that this bike will be making but im confident i can tame it down and still have it reliable for the casual ride out with my buddies when we arent racing the hill.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks guys.

I'd say a +12 swinger and some 12 - 14 pdl extremes, or maybe a +10 and some 10 - 12 pdls.

I think that is a bit much for a 4mil Cub.....I run +8 and 10 Paddles n myne but I also sit really low with a short marvin in the rear....I have not problems with keeping the front down and now problems with too much paddle bogging me down.

I have a 12 over swinger, 12 paddle extreems with 72 inch rollout. I have 39 pwk alky carbs and 15-42 gearing on my 4 mill cub and love it. Good hole shot and carries the front end. Much shorter of an arm and i would have trouble keeping the front end down when i launch. Stock frame not lightened, front brakes removed.

no offense, and i really appreciate the replies......

but i think we missed the part about the bike needing to be duneable? :D

everyone ive talked to said anything over a 8" swinger is VERY hard to go duning with your buddies on. All of my buddies are 4 stroke guys. YFZ's especially. I would really like to be able to go out ripping up the dunes on the back side of little sahara. I guess if its impossible to dune a 4 mil cub with a really really heavy port job then ill just have to buy another bike as well :P i have loved the 09 raptor special editions since they came out.

it is possible to have a banshee making tons of retarded horspower and still enjoy trail riding and duning?? or is it just not in the cards?

Thanks again for the replies.

FYI alkygirl. This is a stage 4 drag ported cub... not a run of the mil 4 mil cookie cutter out of the box cub setup. this bike "should" according to claims, make upwards of 120 hp with this cylinder, supporting mods, and a little alky.

If you set all the way on the front, you may get by with a +8. It'll be scary when it tries to come up though. No offense about your motor, but I don't think many can get 120 hp out of a 4 mil Cub - especially not Trinity. However, they're 100 hp out of the box all day long [alky] (tuned or untuned, imo.) So if the porting has gained any hp over that, that's always a plus

I think you'll have a hard time trying to get the best of both worlds with that setup (hillshooting and duning).

yeah thats kinda what i am thinking as well. i definately dont want to deal with the bike coming up while riding. thats one of my largest complaints about my stock displacement ported bike right now, its got a stock swinger on it and it stands on end when i launch it.

i will post some pictures of the port job... i was really quite surprised when i got it yesterday, it is flat out HOGGED OUT. there is ALOT of material removed and the work looks top notch. granted you cant tell HP by the looks of a port, somebody definately put some time into it.

Best part about it....... if any of you have been watching ebay..... im the dude who won the cheetah cub on there last week for 500 dollars. 8 hours of ride time on it and a stage 4 trinity port job. thing is IMMACULENT! and for 500 dollars... i just saved myself a TON of money.

fyi, no offense taken. i agree 100% about the 120 hp claim. If the bike makes 100 hp i will be more than happy with it. 120 HP is just what i have read trinity rates there stage 4 stuff at. granted we all know trinity is just a little hyped up and not nearly as good as they think they are. lol.
