Pasi S. Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 I was just wondering what is the lowest temperature that you have been riding with your Banshee? Yesterday was my first ATV meeting after a long time. My last ride was 8 months ago - last summer. Anyway the temperature was -23.5*C and I think it´s like -10 or -11*F. The weather was very windy and crispy. I was riding almost 2 hours and were out there over 5 hours with out the chance to go inside. Damn that was cold. The biggest problem was my fingers and my toes. Quote
Dmcbanshee Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 My coldest ride was at -31*C. My carbs freezes at each 10 minutes... Cold weather sucks I prefer summer all the way! Quote
esterelbanshee Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I've been out at about -25 celcius on the lake and its too cold to enjoy. I find that my throttle thumb freezes too quickly even with deflectors. You really need a thumb warmer for that. Quote

ODD, I remember one of my first posts was for whether or not I should run a twist throttle or a thumb. I though by the comments that I got, that I was getting old cause my thumb wouldnt take the cold! Now I see that Im not the only one. Not a lot of options for us here boys in the winter. I took my first she up to the cottage every weekend riding in the winter, ice fished with a backpack, never had an issue at all. Enjoy the shee, springs comin! Quote
Pasi S. Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 Some of you have been in a very cold conditions. -25 to -31*C WOW! Thast -23 was enough for me so never again - never! For me it was hard to find a good jetting for that temperature. -Pasi S. Quote
esterelbanshee Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 Yes, its hard to jet for those temps so dont bother because you'll curse yourself for even going out to ride at those temps. The bikes dont ever really get to proper operating temp. Carbs freeze, you need to wear snowmobile gear including helmet. Thumb freezes after 4 minutes.......screw that shit. No more. Quote
