how hard is it to replace the seals in the bottom end ? does it involve splitting the case ? if it does what else should be replace while im inthere crank bearings maybe ?

yes, you will need to split the cases to properly install the seals in the bottom end.

checking other parts while youre in there is always a good idea. do you have reason to believe that something may be bad?

if its a really old motor and youre tearing it down, it may be a good idea to install a new crank. a lot of times, you can find good used cranks for what it will cost you in time and money to repair the one you have.

the motor should be a 96 i have 2 reasons to wonder bout the bottom end one is the condition of the rest of the bike i put swing arm bearings and axle bearings in it they shoulda been replaced long befoe i got it the other is sound idk maybe you cant hear bad bearings it goes through oil almost as fast as i can pour it in too 3 reasons

goes through what oil? transmission oil? can you elaborate on the issue? if the bike is a 1996 chances are youd be better off just buying a brand new crank. it sounds like you need to tear the whole motor down and go through it.

so where is the tranny oil going? can you see where its leaking out at?

idk where the oil is going . there is lots of sludge in the front of the motor where the pipes exit . it needs a bath that would make it easier to tell . i live in wisconsin so its been a lil chilly . the exhaust leaked every where when i got it i got most of them sealed up there is still a small one where the right pipe exits the motor . the left side smokes more than the right . maybe because of the leak ?

its got graydon pipes graydon 2into1 there is a sticker on it for boyseen

the guy i got it from said it was just rebuit but the condition of it makes me think he probably just hammered a new piston in it and sold it to some dipshit (me) :)
