jtaylorwv Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Hi i recently road about 3-5 days ago theres about 2 ft of snow were i a m am i road mostly for about 2-4 hours off an on and on my way back to my hosue it shut off just died i figured ran out of gas right so i got it home n let it sit in my garage to unthaw n warm up for a day i coulnd't get it started i tried today and within 4-5 kicks it started i had to feather the throttle to keep it running and it sounded like a noise in the cylinders but i don't understand what it oculd b unless it's a wrist pin or a wrist pin bearing or possibly evena ring broken offf but then woulndt it not start if anybody has any input it would b appreciated thank you very much Jake Quote

AlkyGirl Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Doesnt sound good....you need to do a compression check.....Snow=Cold and Cold=Lean and Lean=Piston melted to your cylinder possibly so do a compression check to rule that out....good luck Quote
volcrano Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Doesnt sound good....you need to do a compression check.....Snow=Cold and Cold=Lean and Lean=Piston melted to your cylinder possibly so do a compression check to rule that out....good luck i agree,it really does sound like u spit a ring tho.it will still run-on the cylinder that still has rings.i overheated once and same scenario.bike took a while to start,made clunking noises and did a comp test and had 110 in one side and 20 in the other.dont try and ride it till u check into it to prevent more damage to cyl walls and having to bore too much to compensate for deep ring gouges.hope thats not it for ya.
