wadlesw96 Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Ok i just replaced my clutch hub, pressure plate, and clutch springs. The springs are stock ones. Anyway when its in nuetral is rolls fine but when you put it in gear it cant roll like its supposed to, but then when you pull the clutch in it still wont roll. The pressure plates comes out when you pull the lever like it should so im not really sure what the issue is. Thanks for any help Quote
bholmes Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 maybe just being a new clutch? Mine doesnt roll much at all with a new clutch in it, but the clutch works just fine. I attribute it to just having thicker and stickier frictions. Have you tried to ride it yet? Quote
broncbob Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Did you soak your fibers before you installed them? Are you sure that you have the clutch adjusted the right way? Have you tried to fire it up and put it in gear? Quote
wadlesw96 Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 Havnt tried riding it yet had to fix something else. i just wanted to see if it was a problem before i put it back together. Also no i didnt soak the fibers and what does that mean im new to this stuff. Quote
Burt Reynolds Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 mine does that sometimes, just got to rock it a bit to get it going and break it loose. Its always going to be harder to rill in gear with clutch than in nuetral Quote
Larry's Shee Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 When you install new clutch fibers you soak them in your trans oil before assembly. Several hours/ overnite. Quote
wadlesw96 Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 Rode it last night and it was fine, the fibers were not new i just replaced the pressure plate, hub, and springs. thanks everyone Quote
bholmes Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Glad you were good shape! Nothin like a happy ending Quote
MILO Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 it's always more difficult to push with it in gear and clutch in, motor not running, it's normal. usually if you give it a hard shove it will 'break loose' and roll but still with some resistance. as long as it works properly when running you should have nothing to worry about. GrMeyer Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 When people change out the clutch basket. They make a big mistake on retorque'n the nut. Some people just zip them back on with an air gun and call it a day. Well over a some R&R on my self. Found out that if you go over the torque specks, it will start to fold the washer into the basket and cause it to grab. Which will result in harder "N" finds and feels like the clutch is not disengaging all the way. Quote
