no forward motion please help

if i'm not sitting on the bike I can shift it into 1st or 2nd and it will roll forward. When on bike there is no pull, could this be clutch related?

Do you have reverse??? j/k yea that sounds like you need a new clutch to me.

X2 on that..unless somehow your clutch got out of adjustment, sounds like the plates are fried

no the lever works cable looks good but does not seem to effect anything

i guess i am not understanding the issue.. try to be very detailed about what is going.

 

when youre standing next to the bike, do you have the clutch pulled in when you shift it into gear? are you saying that youre holding the clutch in, shifting it into gear and the bike is rolling forward when you are NOT on it?

 

then, when you are sitting on the bike, when you pull in the clutch, shift it into gear, the bike does not roll?

your correct but on or off the bike is the same if I pull the clutch or not . Also it should die if I dump the clutch with on throttle but it does not.
