banshee?

well guys, newbie!

well simple question - had a blaster for many years, raced her for 4 years, she was ported, head done, wiseco piston, exhaust, v force reedblock, was a sweet machine that i loved!

just sold her, gonna buy a banshee....and I'm wondering would there be a big difference between the blaster and a stock/slightly modded banshee?? I want reliability, don't want cranks and port jobs, at the very most just an exhaust and possibly some v force reeds for a bit extra poke,

also, compared to the blaster, is the maintenance just the same? or would you say to 2 cylinders gives a bit more hassle??

cheers guys

first off, welcome to HQ homie!

your blaster is not going to compare to a banshee with pipes. it will be a totally different kind of power.

all banshees, whether ported, stroked or pipes all have the same chance of blowing up at any given time. dont let reliability be an issue in stopping you from really building a hopped up banshee.

as long as you use a good premix oil like klotz, keep your air filter clean and change the tranny oil regularly you should be in good shape.

banshees are no less reliable than your blaster, even when modded.

welcome to the family bro

as someone who just made the transition from a modded blaster to a banshee i can attest to what loco said...no comparison in power. albeit the banshee i bought is a highly modified bike with a 400cc powervalved fmf motor, my cousin just got a piped, jetted, reeded, and filtered banshee and it too rips compared to the blaster. just absolute arm-ripping performance that is very addicting. you will have less of a learning curve though since you're also used to a 2-stroke, the powerband can and will get you in trouble in the beginning so be careful.

p.s. you're in the right place for banshee info everything you ever need to know is on this site.

thanks for the welcome guys, been browsing t for a while but just registered here the night B)

good stuff, just wanted to hear personal experiences! thats good to know cos the blaster was just starting to get a little underpowered for me ;)

I haven't even tested a banshee yet, my mates are either blasters or 4 pokes so its gonna be different lol

the banshee I'm going to view this week has dmc alien pipes, are these good, average or crap? also may go and view a bike with fmf pipes, what would you say is better? or are they all much the same??

Welcome to the site :headbang:

Dmc's in my opinion are mid to top end pipes, and fattys are pretty good for anything except drag. As long as there clean most pipes are worth relatively the same amount, except for fmf's which tend to go for a little less. Like loco said make sure the bike wasn't ridden too hard. I know from experience that a trail bike is going to have a LOT more wear then a dune bike or drag bike for instance. Trails tend to tear up a bike pretty damn quick, especially when your not careful. I still don't know how I haven't had a rock destroy my case yet. I'm still in need of a skidplate. :shrugani:
