  1. also, every banshee owner should have a service manual. there is a decent one you can download for free in the repairs/mods forum or you can buy one online. it will tell you how to do everything step by step from something simple (like changing jets) to a complete engine rebuild
  2. sounds like a plan K&N makes a good product but really if you have ANY experience turning wrenches dont pay a mechanic to change your jets. Like i mentioned before, take your carbs off your bike (screw-style clamps hold the hoses on either side of the carbs), then turn them upside down and there will be 4 phillips screws on the bottom that hold the bowl on. after you take the screws out and remove the bowl, you will see the main jet right in the middle all you have to do is take a socket or crescent wrench and take out the old ones and put in the new ones. anytime you access them its always a good idea to blow out all the openings with compressed air especially the pilot jets. repeat steps in reverse and you're done.
  3. x3 on the traction part i have a 400cc powervalved motor pulling through 35mm pwk's and with the shitty tires i have on the back (worn holeshots) i have to baby it on anything but pavement or i just sit and spin and spin...if you cant hook, anything will beat you
  4. its really not that bad you just gotta have the balls to drill into your carbs lol make sure you disconnect all the electrical crap for the tors including the little black box on the front of your frame next to the cpi I bought my kit on ebay around $60 if i remember. make sure you get the kit with the caps, new throttle cable, idle screws, drill but, and tap
  5. YES! anytime you increase airflow in/out of the engine you are going to need more fuel to go with it. the reason your bike was reving so fast/high is because you were running a lean air/fuel mix i.e. not enough fuel. jets are what controls the amount of fuel drawn into the engine. the jets are only a few bucks apiece depending on where you get them. I'm assuming you're new to bikes but its easy to change them out you just unscrew the bowls off the carbs and the main jet is that big brass nut looking thing in the middle. unscrew the old one put in the new ones and you're done...you will probably be ok with the pilots you have I GUESS you could run a stock airbox/filter but you're really gonna be choking those new pipes you put on. Get a UNI or K&N filter (UNI's are cheaper) and run without the airbox lid
  6. this is my riding buddy's bike (aka the cousin in cousinsracing lol) and im very happy with the way his bike turned out we put a lot of work into to it but he did the majority because im away at school. There were some minor fitment issues with the t3's but we got that straightened out and i really like those pipes....power delivery is great and its hard to keep the front end down on this bike....keep yours eyes opened for some more mods in the future though because he and I have been known to always want more power. we're both new to the banshee world and i couldnt be happier with our new rides p.s. thats not a real deer lol its a target for shooting bows
  7. let's go over the most plausible scenario shall we? Anonymous seller: "Yes! I just sold a shitload of parts to somebody now I can go buy a ton of beer/weed, but first, let me go mud running with the parts I just sold!.......wow mud running was awesome! I got hung up twenty times and even used a truck with a chain around the jugs to pull myself out! Now I'm going to go spend all the money that just got wired to my paypal account on beer/weed....wow that was some good beer/weed! Oh shit, I have to send alf the parts I sold him. I think I'll just toss them into an old speaker box with no plastic wrap or anything so I can go back to enjoying the beer/weed I bought with his money....Thanks alf!" Dude that really sucks, not quite sure how I would handle the situation personally, but please give us a heads up to who this jack off is so nobody else has to deal with him....best of luck with getting things straightened out.
  8. i have a set of k&n pods i just pulled off my 35 pwk's. they are used but in good condition and come with a set of the prechargers (aka K&N outerwears) i ride mostly trails so i bought an aluminum airbox and they dont fit in the box. let me know if you're interested and i'll get some pics up.
  9. by having someone pull you and then popping it into gear and letting the tires turn the engine over until it fires
  10. yes it has been very cold....where in ohio are you? i live in SE ohio but go to college in NW ohio we are supposed to be getting a big snow this week! well since it has been sitting so long and trying to pull start it didnt work there is a good chance that youre not getting fuel probably due to gummed up carbs. if it were me, id pull the bowls off the carbs and blow out the jets and make sure they werent clogged and that might fix your problem. it was runing fine before?
  11. welcome to the family bro as someone who just made the transition from a modded blaster to a banshee i can attest to what loco said...no comparison in power. albeit the banshee i bought is a highly modified bike with a 400cc powervalved fmf motor, my cousin just got a piped, jetted, reeded, and filtered banshee and it too rips compared to the blaster. just absolute arm-ripping performance that is very addicting. you will have less of a learning curve though since you're also used to a 2-stroke, the powerband can and will get you in trouble in the beginning so be careful. p.s. you're in the right place for banshee info everything you ever need to know is on this site.
  12. i wouldnt go with 18's if you ride trails....my bike was set up for mx and has 18x11x10 holeshots on it with a swinger skid plate and I am constantly bottoming out on the trails...i plan on getting a set of 20's very soon
  13. get some easy throttle springs from jeff at fast. i have 35mm pwks and they rocked my thumb after not very long...now i can ride all day with no arm fatigue
  14. I would like to switch to 9's but I have offset itp wheels and don't have the $$ to buy new wheels right now
  15. They are on my 35mm pwk's. Look for them in the for sale section soon or pm if u want them....they are used but in good shape and come with a set of Outerwears
