Can anyone help ??

This may have already been covered here , so bare with me

I have recently done a top end rebuild my Shee and now it is pushing coolant out of the overflow onto the pipes,

It seems to happen after a slight pause once i back off it surges out ,so kinda ruling out the head gasket

I Changed the radiator cap to be sure still the same

The cooling system is pressurising while the bike is runnning but drops quickly once stopped ,

didnt have this problem before the rebuild ?? weird, I did change the Juggs this rebuild though?? ( back to standard porting) Just about got me beat ?? ,

I am still running the overflow bottle then over flow back to the front under the bars then straight down onto the pipes , how much coolant loss is normal??

Any help would be much appriciated

if it just now started happening after the rebuild, id say youre head gasket isnt sealed properly. did you make sure the head is good and tight?

It did turn out to be the head gasket blew out both sides at the back between the cylinder & the water jackets , Im putting it down to Cheap gasket , got a new Genuine yamaha one to put in ,

What tension should I tension the head bolts too ?? , I have previously tensioned my head bolts

to 28 Nm / 20 ft.lb ( first round tension to 10 ft.lb then re tension to 20 ft.lb ) is this right ?? ,

Will I Need to re-tension after the first heat cycle ??

Cheers,

Aitchy.
