FitZBanshEe Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 I gotta 02 banshee with a 05 motor and I put new reeds in it cleaned the carbs, got new needles, and it will only start with the choke on.. If i try and start it with the choke off and go back to it on it just won't start at all.. so then I gotta roll start it... It will run with the choke off but if i let off the gas it will die out cause it won't idle correctly... it runs fine in upper rpms... i brought it to a shop and they couldn't even figure it out!! ( shop guys must not be to smart ) so any info will be awesome Quote
Rodneya Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Pilot jets may be too small or clogged. take em out so you can look through them and check they are clean. Also check that the tube is on between the carbs and that the slides are in the correct way - cutout facing the air filter. Quote
sleeper06 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Does it still have the tors system and can you raise the idle screw at all Quote
shanYE west Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 aside from what was stated by Rod.. Check for a air leak also... Quote
badjetman23 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 was this motor running good befor you put it in this frame and is this the first time you have tried to run it in this frame Quote
bansheesandrider Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Did you get the float bowl back on the correct carbs? The left one is different from the right one because of the way the choke works. Also make sure the rubber hose between the two carbs for the choke is on, it is directly inline with the choke knob between the carbs. Quote
matt1 Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 Are you sure you didn't get your slides mixed up? It won't idle worth a crap but will still run on top. Quote
