I gotta 02 banshee with a 05 motor and I put new reeds in it cleaned the carbs, got new needles, and it will only start with the choke on.. If i try and start it with the choke off and go back to it on it just won't start at all.. so then I gotta roll start it... It will run with the choke off but if i let off the gas it will die out cause it won't idle correctly... it runs fine in upper rpms... i brought it to a shop and they couldn't even figure it out!! ( shop guys must not be to smart ) so any info will be awesome

Someone please help!!... i did a motor swap on my banshee and i went to fire it up and it started and it died after about 5 seconds... then it wouldnt kick start after... so i roll start it and it starts right up but its really boggy in low speeds and will only idle with the choke on... i cleaned the carbs re jetted it and brand new spark plugs tested for spark... wtf is wrong this thing

Yeah they still are on..could that be the cause of it not kick starting and why it won't idle??? The mechanic said my stator might be bad but I don't think thats it..

I did a compression test and the compression is around 120 for both cylinders.. and it wasn't losing any compression.. could it be something with the parking brake.. before i blew the engine the parking brake had a problem i would have to push it foward sometimes or it would run weird.. I really don't know

I kept the old carbs on when I did the swap...I brought it to the shop and they said they cleaned and tuned the carbs and it still has the same problem...the reeds are good the only other thing it could be is it's not getting spark..which it is whn I test it...i'm thinking it's gotta be something with the carbs?

Anyone got any ideas??

I did a motor swap on my banshee and it will only start when it's cold..it will roll start and run but it's really boggy and will only idle with the choke on...the carbs have been cleaned and the reeds are good what else could it be????

What is crossover tube on the carbs?? The gas lines?

I got stock carbs and i did a motor swap on my banshee also... i cleaned out the carbs with carb cleaner took them apart and went through them... It started and idled fine and everything seemed alright BUT it was leaking a good ammount of gas out of the overflow... I turned it off and left it overnight.. next day I go and try to start it and it starts and dies about 3 times then just wouldn't start at all.. and I noticed that no gas was coming out of the overflow anymore.. i can't figure out whats wrong with this thing... I cleaned the carb again and it still won't kick..

Each cylinder is 140

Just did the compression is fine

My banshee will jump start first try but it won't kick start..when it runs it's also a litle laggy and the idle is weird..it won't idle it jus turns off...is this a problem with the carbs or compression? Both pistons and walls are perfect

I jus did a motor swap on my banshee and i just left the carbs exactly how they were on the old motor.. it runs but it won't idle right... sometimes it idles high and it will never idle in neutral...also there is a lag on the throttle sometimes it takes a lil bit for the throttle to pick up... what could this be?

Could it be that the head isn't sequenced and torqued right? Also the radiator hose was leaking...the pistons aren't shot there in good condition

one side of my banshee was heating up more than the other side..? one of the pipes was really hot and other one was not hot at all.. could it be cause one of the spark plugs is bad? its also leaking anti-freeze where it connects to the head could that have something to do with it?

i just did a motor swap and im a little bit confused on the hoses from the radiator and the hose from the crank case go.. and which ones go into the carb? if someone could show me some pictures or explain it to me thanks

Yea I hear you..but I want to know which kit is the best for me I need new pistons and crank what am I looking at price wise it's my first time rebuilding bare with me

i see.. im kind of confused.. does it come new pistons and a new crank or I have to buy them seprate

On my 02 banshee one of my pistons overheated and went bad.. peices of it fell into the crank and now it wont kick.. what is my best bet.. what kit should i buy?

Hey Guys, I wanna buy a motor because i blew mine and i was wondering how I can tell if i'm buying a motor in decent condition.. What can I do or check to make sure i'm not getting a bad motor? What can I do besides checking the compression

What's a good top end kit? Also do you think it's worth it? Will I run Into more problems? The piston had a chunk missing out of the side and the cylinder wall was messed up too.. Is the crank shot too?
