sheerider20 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 try some of that dupli color vht paint they use it on car headers an engine blocks it says good up to 2000 degrees f so it should work good Quote
badjetman23 Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 i use bar B-Q grill paint skuff up the pipe lightly with sandpaper then warm it up real good with a torch or somthing get it hot not so hot that you cant touch it but almost then spray it do like 3 coats after it drys real good it looks all dull duff it up with a soft cloth and it will shine up nicely goodluck man Quote
toddyfresh Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 i used scotch brite pad and engine enamel worked great Quote
g_low0885 Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 i have a set of t-5 and painted them several times. the problem was that paint did not hold up well i have tried header, engine, and gril paint with the same results. it would look good for a while but would not hold up for very long and if the pressure washer got close to it the paint would come off. so i found some high temp powdercoat on www.eastwood.com this has been on my pipes for over 2 years with no problems. J-Madd Posted November 5, 2009 Report Posted November 5, 2009 I just had my RDZs ceramic coated satin black for $150. They look nice. 3 day turnaround. He also does powder coating with similar turn around. One of my duner chassis cost $250 to do. Quote
FL_shee_rider Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Why not sanding them and polishing them? Thats what i did with mine. They were rusted to shit, and after about 2 nights of sanding and polishing they turned into mirrors. Quote
db25 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 Steel wool will work miracles on you're pipes Quote
yamaha driver Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 i used a copper pad so it didnt scratch as much. and also used windex when i was scrubbing since it seemed to help to get the rust of better. Quote
db25 Posted October 11, 2012 Report Posted October 11, 2012 0000 Steel wool will not scratch it Quote
