slamed91si Posted October 18, 2009 Report Posted October 18, 2009 we went out on like a 45 mile ride today on some tight woods 1st-3rd gear, pipe lines, train tracks and roads 4th-6th gear and i used just under 2 full tanks of gas i have a 97 with gnarly pipes powercore2 sliencers cool head stock carbs with tors removed pro design air filter with air box lid on 260 or 280 mains i just want to know if this is alot of gas to use or is that a normal amount i ride with guys with 450s and they only used about half of one tank on the same ride the carbs are not over flowing and gas is not pouring out the vent tubes on the sides of the carbs thanks for the help Quote
SandRageShee Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 its typical for you to use that much.hell just going on a 20 mile loop i use half a tank on my banshee but thats cruising in 6th with fmf fattys, +4 timing. and milled head and i have 340 mains and 32.5 pilots.. but think of it like this.. you have 2 carbs, two cylinders = more gas they have 1 carb, and 1 cyclinder .. = less gas Quote
slamed91si Posted October 19, 2009 Author Report Posted October 19, 2009 ok thats what i was telling my friends and they said its too much so i said i would ask you guys and see what you had to say thanks Quote

LS1Inferno Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Yep the two strokes are the LEAST effectnt motor you can buy, add having basically two of them at once and we are screwed, Rage's bike is a freak and is the most effeciect banshee ive ever seen, mine has DMCs, 34PJ and a clean up port, and its gets about 30 miles before i switch to resivoir. and thats not hard thats cruising in 6th about 1/3rd throttle at WOT 6th it if i held it long enough i could only imagine its would go through a whole tank in like 6-10 miles Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 yeah they gulp up that gas real quick. i know on a day of riding around town and what not i come home and fill my tank again at least once. im always on the pipe to. Quote
Drewski Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 I only get maybe 2 hours of full out hard riding on mine Quote
slamed91si Posted October 19, 2009 Author Report Posted October 19, 2009 its just a pain in the ass bringing extra fuel in a book bag every time i go out unless i ride with people with 4x4 with racks to strap a can to time to get a bigger tank Quote
VegasJeff Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 Just cut one of the coil wires and you will instantly double your fuel mileage. Quote
Doddy Posted October 19, 2009 Report Posted October 19, 2009 You use so much more gas because you're so much faster then everyone else. Just get a six pack rack and strap down a gas can. Or you can get an ugly ass sand tank. Quote
slamed91si Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 You use so much more gas because you're so much faster then everyone else. i know my friend has a trx 450r and he put a cam 14 to 1 comp piston and runs e85 and was talking shit but i still beat him Quote
freak4yahweh Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 (edited) I get about 20 mpg out of mine. I don't believe that is to bad. And my banshee does outrun my friends 700 raptor with GYTR exhaust and power commander.. I have a single carb on mine, Trinity 2into1 Edited October 20, 2009 by freak4yahweh Quote
bakersfieldturbo Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I get about 20 mpg out of mine. I don't believe that is to bad. And my banshee does outrun my friends 700 raptor with GYTR exhaust and power commander.. I have a single carb on mine, Trinity 2into1 i got the single carb to .. and i still kill gas . like its nothing .. ... but just look at it this way the faster you go ... the faster your gas goes with it lol .. but that seems true with my bike .. Burt Reynolds Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 Make sure they arent leaking while your riding, but banshees do eat fuel. I remember riding the 20 mile loop at s-tree in kentucky, and the banshee guys (i rode a suzuki at the time) were always barely making it back to the campsite lol Quote
DallasGDub Posted October 23, 2009 Report Posted October 23, 2009 I never paid attention to how much gas I used. I just filled up when I got back to camp. I know I would use 5-7 gal over a weekend trip day riding only. (about 10 hours total) Now this last trip with the YFZ, I used 2.5 gallons all weekend. I have always had 2 strokes, so I was shocked about the difference in fuel use. Quote
