bansheeqc Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I have a set of 36mm keihin carbs. How to differentiate PWK from the airstriker? PWK slide may fit on airstriker and airstriker slide fit on pwk for same diameter carb(if a have 36mm pwk and 36 mm airstriker for example) Thank you Bansheeqc Quote

sleeper06 Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 An air striker has extra air vents and long tubes that wrap around carb top and back down,I dont think they make a 36mm air striker but I could be wrong Quote
dufrain Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 The Airstriker has 4 vent hoses and in the end of the carb that goes toward the box there are fins that stick up,where your stock carbs or regular pwk are smooth. Those are supposed to be the only differences between the regular pwk and airstriker. I think the fins are for better throttle response. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 is there much of a performance advantage to the airstriker besides the super cool badass name? Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Also im pretty sure they didnt make a 36mm keihin airstriker. Quote
hercalmighty Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 When the A/S came out on the dirt bikes they said the big advantage was that they helped with bogging off of jumps and going over whoops. Also they have a better throttle response. I dont know if they are any better then the standard PWK. I just got a set and put them on. I going from 28 PWKs to the 35 A/S so its hard for me to say how a 35 PWK and 35 A/S compare. Quote
dufrain Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 I think most of the advantage is the throttle response I doubt it gives any more power. Quote
