  1. I think the over revving is the cause to, 18s out on the road with as hard as thing thing revs ,I dont see any other thing it could be.,thanx for the input
  2. The Banshee broke a rod this evening right below the wristpin..It doesnt have much time on the rebuild. It has an aggressive port, stock stroke, vertex pistons, stock style reeds, stock heads, stock carbs 330 mains at sea level 70 degrees, tors removed and no boost bottle,4 degrees timing,t5s,pro flow with k and n.32 to 1 klotz. It always ran good and pulled hard no flat spots idles real slow and great throttle response.Anyone have a guess. I dont think an air leak and I think its jetted fat enough. Could it be over revving or running it too hard on top end too long.I just sold it so I dont know how he was riding it.It does have 18 inch tires and stock gearing.Thanx for any help
  3. I think most of the advantage is the throttle response I doubt it gives any more power.
  4. The Airstriker has 4 vent hoses and in the end of the carb that goes toward the box there are fins that stick up,where your stock carbs or regular pwk are smooth. Those are supposed to be the only differences between the regular pwk and airstriker. I think the fins are for better throttle response.
  5. I have been looking at reed setups and cant find any info on here about the Boyeson Rad Valve http://www.boyesen.com/cwo/OFFROAD#rad I was wondering how they compare to stock ported cages or vforce. thanx
  6. I have about the same setup and would like to know the same thing. bump
  7. Thanx alot for the advice. As long as I can get by with the 25 pilots I will be able to put it together tommorow and see how it does.Thanx
  8. I am finishing my rebuild and need a starting point. Aggressive dune port, second overbore. Stock head, stock compression, Toomey t-5 system Stock carbs.Tors in the junk pile. Stock timing plate but adjustable plate on order. Pro flo adapter w/ K&n no lid sea level. 80s-90s temperature here now. I have stock needles and plenty of mains and pilots. I will be running 93 octane with 32-1 maxima 927 I would like to know a good point to start air screws how many turns what slot to put the clip on the needle pilot and main I hope thats enough info for some ballpark jetting suggestions. I looked through the jetting thread but couldnt find my exact setup.Thanx for help.
  9. Its a 68mm bore I think .I just figured it would take some more stroke to bring it up over 50cc. I think I will keep looking for some cylinders that are ported already. This banshee I just got looks like someone leaned it out and scuffed the piston until the rings are stuck,.
  10. I am looking at some cylinders that were on a 404 and they are ported. I want to put them on a stock stroke motor with stock heads for now. I just have aftermarket reeds and fmf exhaust. They are also milled 1mm. Will they run ok being ported for the 404.Let me know what you guys think.thanx
