doug Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Hey Guys, Ordered a rear sprocket from Rocky Mountain ATV and it won't fit. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=124&navTitle=Drive&webCatId=9&stockId=45958&prodFamilyId=2185#vehicleSelect After verifying the part #'s (on the packaging & the sprocket itself)they had there Techs look into it. The word is that the sprocket needs to be flipped in order for it to fit. This doesn't make any sense, as the bolt holes won't line up. Has anyone had this problem with Rocky Mountain ATV before? Time is of the essence because I have a big trip planned. Thanks. Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 I have never had a fitment issue from there but I don't buy alluminum sprockets.I only buy the steel ones. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Usually there pretty universal, i dont know about this specific case. But usually theres a set of countersunk bolt holes, and a set of just holes, you need to just use the holes and not the countersunk ones. Correct me if im wrong but on those ones you cant put it on backwords. Quote
rubberneck Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 what year bike do you have? some of the early bikes used 4 bolt sprocket hubs. All the later bikes had 6. Maybe somebody switched yours? Quote
doug Posted September 16, 2009 Author Report Posted September 16, 2009 Hey Guys - thanks for the replies! My bike is down at my buddies (couple hours away) and he assures me that sprocket is being put on correctly. In some photos he sent the sprocket that Rocky M. sent has an inner diameter that appears different. I spoke with Rocky M. again today and they are now sending out a Renthal sprocket. Worth the money - probably not, but a better chance of this fitting, I think so. Hopefully this will solve the problems. For curiosity sake, I have attached a couple of the photos. (tried, but BansheeHQ doesn't accept a 640x480 119kb file. : ( Quote
