A03banshee Posted September 13, 2009 Report Share Posted September 13, 2009 **Posted this in the jetting/exhaust forum, but thought maybe i would get lucky in here.** I purchased a Banshee that came with extra parts. These pipes and silencers were in the parts bin and i have no idea who makes them and how they perform (trail, top end, drag, etc..) A few buddies say they look like custom pipes as they have several welds on the bend of the pipe and have no name, stampings, marks, nothing!?? If any body has any ideas or suggestions on who makes these pipes and silencers, i would greatly appreciate it. Nutwood 472 Posted September 13, 2009 Report Share Posted September 13, 2009 I would would say they look like a set of CT high rev pipes that are old school,the reason I say this is that we have a set that looks just like them but are painted black and have the same silencers and looks like they have the same exhaust flanges,our flanges don't have grooves for exhaust o-rings they just slide on cylinders,that's why I called them old school,our silencers have the ct racing stickers still on them,does yours have grooves for o-rings?I've tried looking them up before but didn't have any luck,ct makes drag pipes now"out of frame"haven't found no in-frame ct 2-stroke pipes.Hopes this helps. I just looked at the flange and there isnt a groove for an o-oring. Like you said, i just searched for ct pipes and did'nt come across much besides ct's current pipe which doesn't look too much like mine. Do you think that these are old ct pipes that are out of production? Also, are you sure yours are ct pipes? IF so, how old do you think they are? Not sure by looking just what they are tuned for but appear to be inframe drags and possibly a set of R&D pipes. I too would recommend testing against a known brand to compare with. I would expect to have to jet them in. Someone took some time with them so they may be worth working with. CT, LRD, Duncan, and FTZ all specialize in custom designs that they will either do in house or send to power pros. Who really knows at this point. Give them a run... B For you guys who dont know how to spot a production pipe compared to custom pipes: The several welded cones indicate a custom made set of pipes. When they have the stamped chambers that look smooth and are welded vertical and longitudely on the chamber, thats a production pipe. "THEY ARE MADE BUY POWER PRO'S BUT THEY ARE NOT CUSTOM, THEY USED TO MAKE ALL THERE PIPES BUY HAND UNTIL THEY STARTED STAMPING THEM 8YRS AGO! SO THEY ARE 8 OR OLDER. THOSE ARE CALLED TORQUE'S THE GUYS AT PP'S TOLD ME THEY WERE A MILD SMALL BORE DRAG PIPE WITH GOOD MID! BUT FROME WHAT I UNDERSTAND THEY WERE THE SHIT A LONG TIME AGO AND COST A TON! AND THE REASON THEY HAVE FMF SILENCERS ON THEM IS THAT IN TOSE DAYS THEY BAUGHT SILENCER FROME OTHER COMPANIES IN BULK DEPENDING ON WHO HAD THE BEST DEAL, MY SET USED TOOMIES" Thanks to everyone who contributed in this post!
