95greenz28 Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Ok guys got my quad running finally. When I start it up it wont start with choke on or anything. The only way I can get it to start is by opening the throttle all the way. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to resolve this? Sorry if my question is dumb. Not too knowledgable on banshees Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Well you can start by giving us info/mods on your motor and carbs (jet size is really what I'm looking for). I'm sure we can get you in the right direction. Quote

I'm sure we can get you in the right direction. Not too many mods on the bike. Bored 30 over, magnum crank, stock polished carbs, toomey t6 pipes, v2 reeds, etc 280 mains and stock pilots. We usually run stock pilots here w no probs Quote
dajogejr Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Crossover tube in place? (As said) Bowls on the right carb? There is a left and right carb. Slides in the right carb (You can mix/mess them up. If they are correct, the half moon shaped cutout in the bottom of the slide will point towards the air filter/air box) IF all those are correct, remove the carbs and clean them out. Remove the pilots, mains, use speaker wire, carb cleaner or brake cleaner and compressed air to get ALL OF the passages clean. Put fresh gas/oil in the tank and fresh spark plugs. Quote

All those are correct so far. Is there somewhere I need to adjust to make them run better? Crossover tube is good and attached, Bowls are free and clear, Slides moves all the way up and down equally on both sides, carbs have been taken apart and cleaned very well Quote
black sunshine Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 Air filter clean? When you do get it started, will it idle on it's own? How many turns out on the air screws? Quote
slamed91si Posted September 12, 2009 Report Posted September 12, 2009 try to unplug the tors box under the gas tank Quote

They can be put in either carb, but only one carb is right. The half moon cutout at the bottom HAS to face the airbox/air filter... Quote

Slides are in the correct carb, no tors on the bike and no tors box, new air filter, etc. Not sure about the air screws. I will check that Thanks for all the replies guys Quote
