mopar1rules Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Took the chamfer out? The ports need to be chamfered. Especially the exhaust port. Also, start fatter then 220. Go to 250. Also, put timing back to stock and see if top end comes back. Quote
dusty_v141 Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 ya i know or you spit rings out i was just saying thats about how much he took out. i rechamfered everything really good after i had them bored for the rebuild. and im going too see what it does on stock.ok this next question may sound retarded but it been bugging me. since it hurts the top ebd when you advance it,what would it do if you retard it a few degrees. mopar1rules Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 advancing the timing helps the bottom, but hurts top end over-rev. retarding the timing takes away the bottom-mid hit, but adds to the top-end over rev. Quote
dusty_v141 Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 so it woild not be good for 1/8th mile drag would it Quote
bebetekbanshee358 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 truthly.. throw the reed spacers back on... ur running way to much timing for a top end motor.. positive timing is good pulling out of turns.. the faster ur going the more ui want the timing to drop. towards the negative. i know u cant do this with the plate but i tyhink u can do it with the dynatek cdi..... AKheathen Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 well, if you have issues running reed spacers, don't install them on the jugside again........the .2-.4 hp in th mid is not even close to worth killin the topend off on any motor. Quote
dusty_v141 Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 im not putting them back on i didnt like them. the porting i did turned out awesome with the fmf fatties. the power band comes on so smooth in the mid and pulls forever. its great! the one thing i hate is how hard it is too push the gas. i lubed the cable and mad it better but it still sucks. when i do the tors removal will it be easier too push? Thack82 Posted October 18, 2011 Report Posted October 18, 2011 when i put reed spacers on mine, it lost top end bad. take off the reed spacers and try again. Or you can swap them over to the other side of the reed cages and you will gain more top end than you bike had previously. Thats what Reed Cages Spacers are made for, they allow you to have a form of adjustment for your Power Band. If you put them in front of your Reed Cages you will gain bottom end. If you put them behind your Reed cages you will gain top end. Try that and see if it helps. Quote
