Building my First Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Finally got around to checking my squish. Mods are in my sig. Base gasket measures .024", I see most guys say between .035 & .050. Can I get a thinner base gasket or will I be fine? Squish is even on both sides of both pistons. Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I would get it down to at least .050"! You could even run it at .045" with the rpm that motor would pull. When the squish is to big, I have seen them run really funny (hesitations). Quote
Building my First Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 Do you know where I could get a .010 base gasket? Quote
Building my First Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 Those carbs I traded for ended up being 28mm, he can't use a tape measure very well. Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Do you know where I could get a .010 base gasket? Cascade innovations sells a .012" steel I think. Anyone ought to be able to get one. Quote

Building my First Posted August 20, 2009 Author Report Posted August 20, 2009 28mm is what I really needed for my mods. I wasn't going to pass up some 33's when he mentioned trding them for stock carbs. Quote
