blanco25 Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I was wondering how much weight difference there would be between the stock rear end.ie: lock nut, brake hub, sprocket hub, axel, and rear wheel hubs. And compare that to a complete lonstar set up. is is worth the switch. also do you gain any bike lengths with the lonestar setup. i found a complete setup for like 760 new. was thinking about going that route. any info would help Quote

dajogejr Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Each has their pros and cons, LSR type vs. JJ&A Type. LSR is lighter. I had one. The con is the splines. You have to make sure the hubs are tight often...and eventually they will wear on the splines. They are tough as nails. A true JJ&A is nice axle. Lifetime warranty. I think a little cheaper than the LSR. It uses a 3/8 keyway for the hubs. I currently use a JJ&A style....there are days I wish I had my old LSR axle. They are both nice, find a used in good shape to save a little money. Modquad makes a pretty nice one as well. Do some research on gun drilled vs. solid, as well as how long you need the axle to be. There is more adjust ability in width on the JJ&A style/Key Style types. Vs. Stock, they are BIG TIME noticeably lighter. Pounds, easily..... Quote
rubberneck Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 i have a lonestar splined axle that i bought off of here used with carrier for 350 bucks, look around you will save some cash. I just weghed it and axle plus wheel hubs plus lug nuts, sprocket hub with 46 tooth aluminum sprocket break hub complete carrier and all hardware (basicall everythin on the rear end but brake rotor and it weighed 14.4 pounds. I have a lonestar billet swinger with it and it is just under 12 pounds, so you can get your entire rear end except tires around30 pounds. i bet stock is easily 70 Quote

RadarRacing Posted August 21, 2009 Report Posted August 21, 2009 Those modquad axles on atvdragracers.com are $423 shipped that's hard to beat for brand new modquads. I love mine and got it in about 4 days. Quote
