mofoka Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 So I just did the clutch and expected the ball to come out when I had it down to the basket. Is it supposed to come out? Or does it come out when you remove the basket? Quote
shanYE west Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 if its not welded to the rod.. you could tip the bike on its side and it may fall out.. or get a small magnet to get it out. Quote

Sounds like it might be welded..... I was tapping and rocking it and it didn't want to come out. Do you really have to split the cases to get to this? Quote
slopoke Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 i have drilled a small hole by the actuator lever and use a small punch to drive it out. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Quote

badassbanshee479 Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 take the bolt out that holds down the clutch engagement lever.... (the one that the clutch cable hooks to under the left carb...) grab the lever and pull up on it... if it wont come out the rd is welded... if it will look at the bottom of it and see if its discolored or anything..... sometimes you can stick something down the hole that, that lever goes into and push the rod and ball out... if not I am affraid you have to split the cases..... slopoke Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 now what i was reffering to is if the rod is stuck not welded to the actuator. If you can't get the actuator out you can't use the drilling method. I would think you could unhook the actuator and move it back and forth and it would break loose. Quote
