chaos1488 Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) I currently have a D and M 421 7 mill with a metal tech frame +4 and a metal tech swing arm +10. 2-5 override and 39mm keihin pjs on alky. I am currently geared at 16-46 for hill shooting but have been doing some 300ft flat drags in sand here on tucson. gearing is causing a slow launch in 2nd. I want to re gear for flats and am looking at going 14-41 in gears giving me a 2.93 ratio. will that be okay? HELP...need some input. Thx. I am running 14 paddle extreams though.... what are your 60 ft times? does your bike spin real bad?? I think ya need more tire..... Quote

I think ya need more tire..... not sure of my 60 ft. but it does not spin bad i am hooking up nice..it boggs in 2nd gear launch. was told i should gear to 13/42 gonna try 14/41 or 15/42 just ordered new gears yesterday and am gonna try em boyh out and mix and match..i could only afford the tires i bought at the time and needed some right away...but like i said...they hook up real nice..they are 22x11x10 though...they didnt have 8s at the time so had to go with 10 inch. Somethings wrong. everything else seems to be fine...launch in first and clutch to second hooks great just a crappy way to start and lose lengths...launch in second gets a pause/bog then gets up and rips...maybe 13/42 or 43? I'm fairly new to drag racing and ask alot of questions...its important to have good poeple who will help with this kind of stuff because its in their nature...the guys here in arizona are all wound so tight and dont seem to waana part with even some advise unless i pull out my credit card so i deeply appreciate any and all help...thx Quote
