Havok248 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Has anyone done H.I.D's/xenons on a banshee? Quote
flyRTby Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 i'd love to find some hids for my banshee Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 Yes, but I run high output LED's headlights now. Quote
polkaudio Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 I have a single Vision X 8500 with a Trail Tech 55 watt halogen camp light. Works pretty nice, just have to get the POS Ricky Stator fixed or replaced because she won't run much past idle. Thinking of just floating the ground on my stock stator. Anybody know if this will work or is it too much of a load? Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 19, 2009 Report Posted August 19, 2009 If you run a hid you have to run a battery. I run a stock stator converted to dc with a battery. It runs my 3 vision x led solstice lights, and my led underbody lights pretty well. Whats the amp draw on the hid? Do you already run a battery? Quote

The draw of the HID is only about 8-10 amps max at start up, then it drops down to about 2-3 when it's running. Quote

Those trail tech MR16's I had spiked at 15 amps on startup, and operated at 2.9 amps when they were stabilized. That was testing 2 lights at once. I just got back my kidney belt from my grandma this morning. She sewed a pocket into it for the lithium battery pack on my Vision x solstice LED Helmet light. 8 hours of run time on one charge. Same lights I have mounted on my back. Quote

87sheerips Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 HID's are easy to do, all you have to do is float the ground on the stator and install a reg/rectifier and a battery wire it up per trailtechs instructions and have at it. I run 2 Trailtech SC4 HID's on my bike and there is no comparison to anything out there. I have considered running the new LED off road lights just haven't gone that way yet. <img src="http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q216/loboboy/IMG00003-20090527-1811.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /> plus I also run the EFI system including the pump off of my battery and 200w stator. I want to see a thread on your banshee. Share info on the E85 / FI system, along with everything else. Thats awesome man,] -JD Quote
