shee4speed Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 you need to do a compression test 1st of all. Also do you know all the mods,if any? What is your elevation? What fuel mixture you using? Quote
bigboysmith Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 The banshee is all stock the only thing that isnt is the tires witch shouldnt make any difference. i had two compression checks done the first was 90 then 85, my elevation is about 860 feet, and my fuel mix ratio is 32:1 Quote
bigboysmith Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 whats a good compression? and wat would i have to do? Quote
shawn941 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Compression is way low ya,,,thats waay low man,,annything under 100 your gonna need a new top end,and your way under that. and do it now before u blow it up and possibly cause lots more damage. Quote
bigboysmith Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 hey new top end? that doesnt sound good what does that include? sorry im new at this Quote
shawn941 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 whats a good compression? and wat would i have to do? i run a stock head and am at 130 even on both sides. your gonna need to get it bored and new pistons and rings Quote
bigboysmith Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 yea someone told me that so u run 130 all stock? what year do u have? do u no prices? Quote
shawn941 Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 yea someone told me that so u run 130 all stock? what year do u have? do u no prices? im not all stock but the head is stock,,,thats what dictates how high your compression is. you can buy a coolhead and put different domes in it to raise your compression. i havent had a topend done in awhile but its gonna run ya $300-$400 for everything..how muych did u pay for the bike? oh and i have an 87 Quote
bigboysmith Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 i paid $2000 for it the guy said it as been sitting for 3years and the guy lived in the city so he couldnt ride it alot. you dont think there is a defference between your 87 and my 01 like compession wise. Quote
