dtcohen Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Hi guy, I am new to the forum. I got my first banshee today, and I broke my first banshee today, lol. This is what the add said and it is pretty much all I know about what is done to the fourwheeler Bigbore kit stroker crank flat side carbs fmf gold series pipes ext. axles & a frames lonestar swingarm full bore plastic kit fat bars. the head and cylinder both have TRM engraved on them and either the head or cylinder had "progas 12.4" engraved on it (can't remember) when I got it home it acted like it was flooding out so I adjusted the carbs and got it running good I was in first gear and hit the gas, something popped and the chain broke. I pushed it back into my shop and looked it over, no busted housing or anything. with the clutch pulled in it runs fine but when you let the clutch out it chokes the engine (this is without the chain on) the transmission does not shift right either. has this happened to anybody else? what all could be wrong inside? locogato11283 Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 the chain broke? wtf? sounds like you might have some bent shift forks. so it wouldnt shift before the chain snapped right? if the bike is in neutral, regardless of whether the chain is on or not, it should still sit and idle. you sure the bike is in neutral? Larry's Shee Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 Could have possibly bent a fork. Or it may be stuck in two gears. Might try holding clutch in, wiggle sprocket back and forth while trying to shift it. Good luck!! Quote
dtcohen Posted June 28, 2009 Author Report Posted June 28, 2009 thanks for the suggestions, i am probably going to head over to the shop here in a little bit and look into it some more. hopefully it will be something simple and i wont have to tear the engine down i drained the oil out and didnt see any metal shavings or chunks of metal so that was a good sign Quote
