slopoke Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 My clutch all of a sudden wont release. I pulled the sidecover to find that the rod had welded itself to the ball and the adjuster. Looked almost factory. I pulled the clutch release cam and found the rod had worn right through it. I bought this shee used and te best my opinion i have is that the clutch prob wasn't adjusted right and it resulted in kinga like riding your foot on the clutch in a pickup. The rod must have been spinning all the time. What do yall think and how do I get the rest of the clutch shaft out? Do they make a roller like gizmo to release the clutch? My 450r has one and seems to work alot better. Thanks guys Quote
Building my First Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Pancake Bearing is what you'll need. $50 new from F.A.S.T.. You can find used ones once and a while. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I have never had a ball and rod get locked together or mushroomed to other side, so I can't give you any niffty little tricks I have done to push the rod out, May need a new shaft? IDK. But once you get it resolved, buy a pancake bearing adjuster and you won't have to worry about that anymore. Quote
swrbansheeboy Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 hate to say it but if you cant use a magnet to pull the rod assembly out of the middle of the input shaft then your most likely going to have to split the cases and remove it from the opposite side. if you know what your doing you can flip the engine on a bench and remove the bottom of the case to get to it without tearing down the top end....
