It should b double nuted. A special nut on the inside of the pressure plate and 1 on the outside Quote
Paul M Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 like he said, but I double nut mine from the out side of the pressure plate , that way I dont have to pull the plate to make an adjustment! Quote
hauser2169 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 when i tore it apart there was no nut. just a bunch of thread lock.. can someone show me a diagram of whats suppose to be there.? Quote
Paul M Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 try this the Part # 10 should already have a notch so you can hold it witha wrench while you put nut # 13 on and tighten it thus locking the asjustment screw in place !! clutch diagram Quote
hauser2169 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Posted June 8, 2009 thanks i appreciate it.. is there any advice on how many revolutions i should turn the screw.i noticed if i tigten it up snug it wont evan grab but if its a little on the loose side it will grab. Quote
RadarRacing Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 You adjust it till your clutch arm on the top left of the case lines up with the little triangle/arrow cast in the top case. The arm is just above the sprocket on top of the eng and the clutch cable hooks into it.sounds like you need to loosen up your adjustment at the clutch lever too at the hendlebar that should hav 1/8in play. Meat Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Look at the clutch arm where your clutch cable attaches, the clutch arm has a "pointer" on it. Now look at the engine case near the clutch arm, you'll find a small arrow cast into the engine case. Adjust your clutch with the adjuster in the center of the pressure plate so the clutch arm pointer lines up with the little arrow mark on the case. When your all lined up, finish it by adjusting your clutch lever at the clutch lever so you have about a 1\4 inch of lever freeplay. Quote
