Scottie D Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 So we're at Rocky Ridge ATV park in Decatur TX. The shee stalls out as soon as you give it any gas. All i want is to be able to ride it today without causing any damage because i have a set of 28mm OKOs waiting for me at home. Here are my settings: Current Settings: air screws 2 turns out 27.5 pilots 330 mains needle on 2nd clip down (from blunt end) We've changed pilots down to the 25 ,and back to the 27.5. We've changed mains from 330 to 340, adjusted the needle, etc. We are about 500 ft asl. What am I missing? The carb is in pieces in our popup, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know asap. Thanks! Quote
bassmaster345 Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Is the choke tube connected between carbs? Slides in the correct carb? Bowls on correct carb? Make sure your pilots are clean as it don't take much to clog them up. Take a look at your reeds and make sure you dont have a broken reed. Put a new set of plugs in it. These are things I would check. Quote
AKheathen Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 is the tors module removed? (not just the carb wires) what are your mods, and airbox setup? Quote

lowbuckracing Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Did it run good before you left? What was the elevation change?Did you drive all the way with the bikes piggy backed?More info.. Quote
Scottie D Posted May 23, 2009 Author Report Posted May 23, 2009 Did it run good before you left? What was the elevation change?Did you drive all the way with the bikes piggy backed?More info.. Yes, slides are on correctly. I have a vented lid airbox with k&n filter. TORS are removed. It ran fine on my street when i ran it up and down a few times. very little change in elevation from where i was to where i am now. Also, the reeds are brand new vforce3s, and honestly, how do i tell the difference on the bowls? they look identical, which i guess could be my problem. lol. I did put new plugs in, and changed over to some brand new pilot 25s that came with a rebuild kit. My homie and i just are stumped. i had a little 4 poke that i putted around on, but this was to be my first time out since i built it. definitely disappointing. I wish i knew more. i'll just finish out my day and try to tune more at home. like i said, got okos waiting for me, so i just really hope i can fix the problem with a new setup. Quote
hercalmighty Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Put your carbs on and try tapping on the bowls to see if the floats are sticking. Are you getting plenty of fuel from your tank? Make sure the tank vent hose isnt clogged. Quote
mopar1rules Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 i would put clip on the needle to the middle groove. check float height. for determining the difference between the float bowls for the 2 carbs, is in the float bowl itself. look down that little passage in the float bowl, there will be a jet in the bottom of that passage. but only on one of the float bowls. the bowl w/the jet goes on the carb w/the choke. that jet determines how much fuel goes up and to the choke circuit for starting. Frizb99 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 the bowl w/the jet goes on the carb w/the choke. that jet determines how much fuel goes up and to the choke circuit for starting. You can also see easier on the outside of the bowl the left bowl will have a plug where the passage was drilled out for the starter/choke circuit. It looks like a brass ball pressed into a hole. The right bowl will be flat. I just took a quick picture with the carbs installed. You can see the plug in the yellow square. Quote
