riding in the grand canyon?

I was doing some googling, and i kept seeing all these places advertising atv tours in the grand canyon. Since im going to be out in vegas soon, i wont be too far from the south side of the grand canyon. Anyone ever ride out there?

nope cant say i have riddin ther but my pops rode his shee up the colorado river and liked it.. hope you dont die of heat stroke haha

A co worker hiked it about 6 months ago. he told me the tribe at the bottom had quads down there. I am not sure if those are the ones for the tour or not but he said everything had to be flown by helicopter there. All of the tribes supplies, parts for the bikes, gas etc.. I don`t know if they have any that you can take your own bikes to or how you would get them there. something that would have to be looked into

I'm pretty sure you cant because its a national park.I know some people who ride an area called butte canyon without any hassle, but thats the northern rim.

I'ts a licensed company with a permit from BLM. I could be wrong.

when are you going to be in vegas? I ride 25 miles north of blythe, ca. maybe we can meet up. got some great cross country rides. I figure if you are coming to vegas to ride, you will swing by glamis also? if you do you will drive right by my river place. let me know!!

im leaving next weekend, so we should be in vegas by june 4th, im staying for likw 3 weeks, then driving home. i would definetly be down to meet up and ride in cali. we were not going to go to glamis because everyone said it would be way too hot, were going to hit dumont dunes tho.

I love dumont but it is on the way to death valley. it may be hotter then glamis. but bring both sets of tires there are some great hard pack trails to mines and up a little river!! http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_dumont_dunes.htm here is a pretty cool site that talks all about dumont.

just hit up dumontduneriders.com .. awsome site... i think the night sand drags r comin up.. o and i also think the river dries up this time of year.. and both sets of tires are a must for dumont :thumbsup:

that is a good point. I don't ever remember that river flowing all that well. maybe more like a creek.

ya we go for my b-day every year in early october and even then its warm and dry.. gotta love a place with a dune named BANSHEE HILL tho haha thats wer all the drag shees just own all the 4 joke draggers haha :biggrin: ive even put down some 450s on that hill myself.
