official_style Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 I am having a problem finding a local place to rewind my stock stator. I want to run 2 50w bulbs. Has anyone had ricky stator rewind a stock one? I don't want to have them do it if the quality will be crap, like the stators they sell. If there rewinds are good I don't mind having them do it. I guess my other option would be to run a moose ho stator, and just use only one of the lighting outputs. Which is my best choice? Quote
TexasBansheeMan Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Correct me if I am wrong, But with a Mooses 250W coil ran DC with a rect and a batt, you will have NO problem with 2 50w lights. I had a RS 200W set DC did all the work my self (was easy) ran 2 PIAA 50w Spots and 2 35 W floods with absolutly 0 problems. Even at low RPM the light was constant and BRIGHT AS HELL!!! You should be fine with 2 50w lights. Quote
official_style Posted May 18, 2009 Author Report Posted May 18, 2009 i wasnt planning on doing a dc conversion, just running ac with a ricky stator regulator Quote
TexasBansheeMan Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Do the DC you will thank me. Its 10 bux in parts and a cheap batt. and just think Engine off lights!! Quote
official_style Posted May 18, 2009 Author Report Posted May 18, 2009 i would do it, but im leaving for a trip and need my quads ready asap. im a little concerned about fucking the stator up when i try and float the ground. Quote
TexasBansheeMan Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 http://www.bansheehq.com/index.php?option=...4&Itemid=28 dont know if you have seen this, but it a Dummies 101 to DC conversion. unless the trip is in 10 min i would go this route. just my .02 Quote
jbooker82 Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 A dc converision is only worth it if your going to run hid lights. I wouldnt even try ricky stator. They would probably keep your stock stator and send you a 200w stator. Call trail tech they rewinde stators. Quote

Im from the school of, I would rather have it and not need it them be hung in a pinch. Quote
official_style Posted May 18, 2009 Author Report Posted May 18, 2009 ordred 2 of the moose stators, ill see how they work out. Quote
official_style Posted May 19, 2009 Author Report Posted May 19, 2009 Since I went with the moose stator, and I am only using one of the lighting outputs, what do I do with the one I'm not using? Tape it off, or do I need to connect it anywhere? Quote
