I am going to lay this out there and probably get told everything that I have read from searching but here it goes. I am going to be racing my bike in a local atv drag racing event and had some questions. The class I am racing in is stock 350cc and under. The class allows engine bolt-ons without race fuel. I am currently running my bike with Trinity IV pipes, Trinity Head IV 19cc swirl cut domes, advance timing and pod filters. My compression is 160ish and I run avgas to be safe. My problem is I cant run the avgas it has to be pump gas. So will my engine be safe running on pump gas for a total for 6 or less 300' runs. I would run it in the next class up but then it jumps to more of an open class and I would get dominated on.

if you are running stock port heigths, then back the timing off to stock, or minus 1, if you are staying in the pipe the whole time.

That is what I will be looking into. I have a gas station a few blocks away that sells 110 from the pump.

I second that....as long as its from the pump your good

another option would be to lower your compression some. Whats yur compression that you are not able to run pump right now the way it sits?

How are they testing the fuel? Gravity test? If you can, try getting som 101 and have them test it out a few days before and see if it passes

They wont test it. I just don't want to be called out for cheating. It is more of a ethical thing to me.

with 160 psi i dont see why you cant run premium pump shit i put out that much and i run 91 93. you guys are lucky you have that 101 pump gas still

Octane under 98 is good for motors that have under 165 psi per cylinder.

Those days we have to be careful on the pump gas we buy. We don't get what it says on the pump for octane..

The race gas that you can buy from a pump at a gas station is never the octane that is marked on the pump.

If race gas is vented all the time. The octane numbers go down alot b/c a high grade of fuels....

All gas stations tanks are vented..
