dragbanshee98 Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 nice i see the company noticed that 6th gear was wy to dam high and changed it  now it may be easier to pull that gear in the sand Quote

Unless your talking about vs. a stock, uncut tranny, then I agree 100%. Good to know there are some 6 speeds being built. I've only seen one run first hand, and he made it down the track pretty good!! Quote

J-Madd Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Yeah, I bet that's right. I forget not everyone races 300 ft dirt  Quote
rubberneck Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Yeah, I bet that's right. I forget not everyone races 300 ft dirt  I dont race any of it yet, but i do know that .3 to .5 in the 300ft is a freaking huge difference. Seems like from the times i hear guys state, its pretty easy to get into the low 4s, then its like a wall Quote
ATVdragger Posted May 8, 2009 Author Report Posted May 8, 2009 Maybe he was referring to racing in the 1/4 ? The 6 speed is for atv asphalt draggers. 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile. Also be great for the 500ft dirt drags Never use a 6 speed for 300ft sand or dirt drags. Stock trannies don't shift smooth in between the gears. Always 300 to 400 rpm drop between into gear. The billet 6 speed don't have the huge rpm drops.. Always smooth rpm powerband all the time. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Stock trannies cut for override shift just fine if done right. You only need 2-5th gear for 300 foot. These are a great option for big motor bikes running 1/8 and 1/4 mile...but kind of impractical for smaller motors that don't need full billet trannies.... Quote

If you have a small stroker motor and want better ET times than what a stock cut tranny is doing for you and hate spending money on replacing bad gears, shafts and shift forks.. The new billet tranny is the way to go.. With a lower first gear, different ratio's on 3rd,4th and lower 6th gear. You get faster ET times and the billet tranny will last for years to come.. Think about it.. Add up everytime you replace gears or shafts and still run a tranny that is built for moto-x, not drag racing. Buy a billet tranny that is setup for drag racing and pull faster ET times. Plus never replace gears and shafts.. I love running my 392cc stock stroke Titan Racing Cub with the billet 6 speed tranny. My 60ft times are in 1.20's. In the 1/4 mile 9.90's. In time, those times will be faster yet.. With stock cut 6 speed. 60ft in 1.40's. Best 1/4 mile 10.30's I'm also running a billet 6 speed in my 710cc 20mm DM.. Pulling 1.10's 60ft times.. Plus pulling some crazy 1/8 and 1/4 mile times too.. Quote
Dave I. Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Is this the same ass hole that got banned from atvdrag that thinks everything he says came straight out of the bible. But its proven time and time again how full of shit he is...... Quote

But its proven time and time again how full of shit he is...... Yep...pretty much. A full billet tranny is 2500, give or take. I can find a few tenths in 1/8 and 1/4 mile cheaper than that. Like changing the primary drive gear ratio and using first, etc. Quote
Koolguyson Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Never have to replace shafts or gears again on a billet tranny? I have two broken shafts you can have, and a handful of bent and burnt shift forks because his transmissions burn a set of forks each race. The guy also won't stand behind any of his work. I mean...come on. When you tighten the sprocket nut down for the first time and the threads SNAP off the shaft (you read right. The threaded section of the shaft broke off)...something ain't right. Then the guy wouldn't even replace the shaft, nor would he even sell me a shaft! I really wish somebody else would step up and make a better product. Quote
shanYE west Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 I was just gonna say.. Arn't these trans's like 2500-3000? I could find alot better places to put that. + the guy doesn't stand behind his work... No way in hell I'm shellin 2500 out for a product when he wont stand behind his own work. Quote
