I'm looking to purchase an ims tank soon and I just want to know if anyone here runs one. What issues should i be aware of before installing? I know i have to cut the plastics, but are there clearence issues with the bars? I already run a 2" riser.

Thanks,

Matt

mine rubs on the stem cover wear your key would go if your still running that. Other than cutting the plastics I like mine it does add weight up front of course between the fuel and the tank. It is a bit wider than the stock plastics too. I think like clark ims offers a few different sizes now so you may not have to cut plastics, unless you want to go with the larger ones.

I'll probably get the 5.6, how does the rad shroud mount with out haveing the stock gas tank cover in place?

I just have a cr style kill switch so i guess i won't have a problem with a key switch, but i wonder if my bar pad will be a problem :ermm:

oh yeah, how is the extra weight when your hitting a whoop section?

i looked into both brands and i went with clarke. i liked the look better. I love mine and i don't notice the difference in the whoops. only i can ride until my legs are jello!!

the radiator shroud is only held on with the 1 bolt with the big tank the bottom slides into the hood as usual. I havent had any problems with it coming loose I used mine for dunes and desert riding and racing. It can feel a little nose heavy at times but its easy to adjust to. The better capacity far out weighed any down falls for me
