Bought a new push lever assembly had the same thing happen to my 96. the jam nut was striped out on mine, it would work for a few minutes then the nut would back it self off and lose the clutch tension. i put a new one on and rode it for a few minutes today seemed ok so far. liveordie72089 Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 you are talking about the center clutch adjustment nut on the pressure plate? Yeah I am talking about that one. Is that the part that you are talking about you replaced? Quote
lt250rfd Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Yeah I am talking about that one. Is that the part that you are talking about you replaced? yes, i actually got a used 06 pressure plate with the nut, washer, and rod off of ebay. i only rode a few minutes up and down my street and it seems to be alright so far. before i replaced it i kept jacking with the old one i could only get to the end of my street and it back it self off and lose the clutch. did that three to many times, plus the loss of oil and coolant. if it dries out enough this week i'm hoping to take it for a spin.
