06specialedition Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 What up Banshee lovers....im fairly new to owning a banshee. Right now i have Cpi inframes, pods and jetted. 90% of the time im riding at Little Sahara dunes which i think is about 5,000 feet above sea level. So my main question is... what should my next few mods be? Cool Head, Reeds, Timing...etc. im not going to port or anything soon, my bike has only gone through two tanks of fuel since it was off the show room floor. Thanks -ZB Quote

Thanks -ZB From everything i've heard timing, and reeds for power. It is my understanding that the cool head doesn't add any power unless you go to smaller CC domes and then if you go too small you have to run race fuel. Quote
06specialedition Posted April 24, 2009 Author Report Posted April 24, 2009 Ok cool, looks like i better get some V Force reeds then...and i'd rather not run race fuel if i dont have too. Quote
BellicoseBanshee Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 If you are riding at 5000' most of the time, you should bump the compression just to make up for the high altitude. You can run much smaller domes than stock size in a head at that elevation and still use pump gas. Bumping the timing to +4 will help out a lot as well. Unless you port those jugs, don't waste money on VF3 reeds. Stock jugs with stock porting and stock carbs do not flow enough to warrant VF3s even with CPIs, Just get some quality after-market reeds for the stock cages. A nice billet timing plate and shaving the stock head is a good starting point if you want to save some coin. Just remember though, porting is when the real power is at... Quote
06specialedition Posted April 24, 2009 Author Report Posted April 24, 2009 ok that helps....So aftermarket reeds in stock cages. Yeah im sure i'll port some day. Just getting all the bolt ons first. What do u think for this altitude?....19cc? Quote
3YLSYKR Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Sup Zach, I found your post. I finally made it on. My bike has same mods other than cool head already and I'm not sure what dome size ect... and I'll have to look and see what brand. Me and 06specialedition will be doing similar mods with each others bikes. Quote
ban06shee Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 right after i put my t6's on i put a timing plate and the v-force3 reeds on and it did make a difference. youll be happy with that mod, im pretty much doing the same thing, just quick bolt ons but there working great and my performance is getting better and better. i didnt see too much of a difference in the cool heads but i put new parts in week after week so its been the same to me.
