dco3100 Posted April 21, 2009 Report Posted April 21, 2009 Idk what would work for my 611 DM, 22x11x10 12 or 14 paddle OR 24x11x10 12 or 14 paddle. What do you guys think?? Im lookin to push between 140-160 horses... Quote
Handyman Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Hmmmm. Not very many people run that kind of power on here. I'd say got o planetsand.com and search what has been said for that kind of power....If I was to make an educated guess....I'd say run the 22x11x10 14 paddle extremes...the paddle is taller than the regular haulers and a bit stronger....won't fold the paddle.....some will say to run the haulers......I know that the paddle side/type/size has been discussed here before.. might want to do a search and see what you can find.... swrbansheeboy Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 are you strictly racing it? and whats your set up.. swingarm length, stock or drag chassis, wheelie bar if a drag bike... i agree that planet sand would be a better choice of opinions on this topic but more info is needed to make a recommendation... if i know how your chassis set up i can ask lewie what he recommends next time i'm at the shop... shanYE west Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 theres a few people around that run that much power.. but we need a lil more info to help out. Chassis setup. 300' or hill racing? Also.. Paddle height for the extreme and hauler are the same (7/8"). Difference is the thickness of the blades. The extremes are 1/8" thicker then the standard hauler. Quote
RadarRacing Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 Definately dont get 12s. 14's would be too little IMO as well. I'd say if you have a +12 or longer swingarm which I hope you have a +14 or 16 you'll need a 25" 18 paddle. I think you are slightly over rating your HP but get some 16s at least or some 18/18 rippers if it's soft sand. Quote

Probably a 14 extreme staggerd or 12 ripper in a 76-80RO. Even in soft sand a 18 ripper is WAY too much. I'll be using 16 extreme staggerd on my 14mil DM. (649cc) If he'susing a +12 or less.. I'd use even less paddle.. maybe a 13-14pdl extreme. My 4mil cub was a handfull with 13 extremes and a +12 arm. There is alot of variable that need to be factored in. Chassis setup, driven gear ratio (assuming he's using straight cuts wich I hope he is), rider weight and type of riding play a huge part in paddle selection. If he's hill shooting. He'll probably want a 13-14 pdl extreme in a 73RO maybe less, Maybe one of the Hill guys will chime in. I'd like to know who did the case work and porting?. Quote

What kind of 60 ft times did you get with 13 pdls????? Don't see how those would work at all at the track, at least on my 4 mil. A 611 DM will need some paddle for sure. 16 extreme staggereds on 25x10x10 or 25x11x10 would be a nice choice, imo. Quote

Best ET with that setup was a 4.11 backed up the next pass with a 4.14 with my 220lb ass on it. This was in my stock chassis. That setup hooked hard wether you want to beleive it or not. Probably could have gotten my 60's lower with a bar and my trans not messin up on me. Lots of people like to over paddle when you can get the job done by spending time getting the chassis setup right. When I got my drag chassis I switched to 14 pdl and my 60's increased to 1.7's Took me almost the whole season to get it back down into the 1.4's Quote

Thats 1.55 and 1.60 with no bar. I had a few in the low 1.5's and a couple in the 1.4's.. But nothing consistant And it took me almost the whole season to get back into the 1.5's Sorry its late and I just noticed  Quote

shanYE west Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 here's one of my passes. This was at Bob's.. My fastest times and best 60's were in albright shores. Can't seem to find them slips though. As you can tell by the date this was 2yrs ago. So 13 extremes in a 73RO can and do hook. Quote
shanYE west Posted April 23, 2009 Report Posted April 23, 2009 I think its safe to say that if this guy doesn't give any more information about his setup and type of riding.. then its impossible to give a tire suggestion. Quote
