spye Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I am looking at these 4 mil stroker kits that are being sold with the crank, pistons, gaskets, spacer plate etc. What I want to know, is if I run the spacer can I run my shaved stock head, or am I going to have to much compression? My head is shaved .020", I also have a completely stock head on the shelf. Before you say "no dont do the spacer, get it ported" I dont have time, I am leaving for the dunes on Friday and I just tore the bike down to install new pistons and found out the crank bearings are trashed and the cylinders will have to be bored, so I figure why not throw a 4 mil in with a fresh bore and new pistons? I will probably run the spacer for a couple of trips and then have my jugs ported properly. Tell me what you guys think. Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 1. fuck a spacer plate 2. NEVER rush a build 3. buy your stuff from a builder who can give you advice if something isnt quite right 4. put new pistons and used crank in now to get you riding, but do a proper 4mm build later. Quote
tedd1 Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I ran a plate for a short time...it works. Granted, it is not the best way to do a 4 mil, but it will get you by until you get a proper top end. The milled head should work fine. Check your squish to be sure. Quote
