9FR Productions Posted April 14, 2009 Report Posted April 14, 2009 I hate to beat this topic up but I need help. I have a 2001 Banshee with a stock motor. All I have done is added is a pair of FMF Fatties and a K&N Filter in the airbox. I have taken the airbox lid off and plan on running it that way. There is also a outterware on the filter that's it. Here's my specs: Elevation is 4200 ft Temp is in the high 50's to the low 60's Running 91 Octane gas Mixing 40:1 (Klotz Supertechnoplate) Any Sugesstions?? p.s. I have had people tell me to run a 25.0 stock pilot jet or a 27.5.... Quote
Overboost Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 (edited) 27.5 pilot and 290 main start there if your low end bogs, go 25 pilot. bog up top, drop the mains a size at a time EDIT: 4200 elevation.... 25 pilot and 270 mains.... you have no air Edited April 15, 2009 by Overboost Quote
shee4speed Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 he has a little air.I ran 280's at 7500 ft. try 290's and go from there. Quote

AKheathen Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 just sayin i agree with both of you. 290+27.5 maybey even 300 with the 91, but probably not Quote
dajogejr Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Wow....you guys run that fat of jetting with an airbox at 4200 feet? 270 to 290 main is what we run in that setup at or near sea level. Two questions that need to be asked. Rider weight and riding temps? Quote

dajogejr Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 he has a K&N with no lid Yes, but he's still running an airbox...I got that part. Quote
GrMeyer Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 shit with pods and just exhaust I was running 300s and 25's for the dunes... I would have to stay start out at 25p's and then 290 and drop from there. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 In my opinion, there are three stages of air filters. Airbox full (with lid, get rid of that damn snorkel) Airbox with no lid or a pro lid/modded lid or K&N type Outerwear lid Pod filters with NO airbox. I've jetted each, and they all call for a different set. Obviously, the more restrictive require less fuel/less jet. Quote

9FR Productions Posted April 19, 2009 Author Report Posted April 19, 2009 My weight is around 225 and the temp is in the low 60's.... So I rode all day on Saturday and it seemed to run fine. When we got home and started the bike to take it off the trailer it wanted to idle. But when you hit the gas it just wanted to die out. Im at 4200 elevations 60-70 degree weather and have a airbox with the lid off. Also running a k&n air filter with a set of FMF Fatty Pipes. Im jetted at 25 on my pilots and 280 on mains. Any Suggestions??? Quote
AKheathen Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 i've heard the fatties like 27.5, and what's the elevation where you ride? 4200 @ your house? Quote
