Just a thought, I used to race dirt oval karts (100cc reedjet) and I used a Digitron guage for EGT and RPM. Would this be a better way to keep an eye on engine temps or is a in line water temp gauge just as good.

EGT would be way better then the water temp gage IMO. I dont see y more people dont run them. If you have power jets it will alow you to ajust on the fly to air and elevations changes.

I would run egt gagues on a piped sled but in my banshee its probly cheeper to do more plug chops then spend $200+ on egt gauges, also banshees are not prone to blowing up as fast as a sled that isnt jetted right.

in my case anyway. i ride trails with my shee and im sure if the main was a size or two off it wont blow up right away. anyways when i bought my banshee it had 240 mains that the guy ran for a couple years and it still runs mint. now it has 300s. anyway riding sleds they are at high constaint rpms for a long time, like holding it to the bar across the lake. which is alot worse then being on and off the throttle and having to shift with a banshee. and yes in my case i beleve my banshee will not blow up at quick as my sled with improper jetting.

I plan on running egt's next winter for sure. You can have 40 degree temp changes during the winter and the egt's will indicate problems sooner than plug chops. I noticed a trail tech gauge on Rocky Mountains web site. Now if they would just add egt capability to that it would be a perfect fit for a banshee. You would have a tach, egt, spedo and some other funtions to gain peek efficiency.

Just my two cents :geek:
