swhitey917 Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 Ok guys, i have a buddy wanting to buy an 02 raptor 660 and he was wanting to know if it does better on fuel than the banshee. He only says this because he sees how i am fueling up constently. So my question is how much better on gas is the 660 raptor compared to a banshee with fmf pipes, air filter, thats pretty much it. Ineedmoney Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 I would think a hell of alot better. My banshee eats gas left and right on a full day of riding. ill probaly fill up a lot more then my friend zach on his raptor 700 Quote
dragbanshee98 Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 raptors are ALOT better on fuel than a banshee... last year i had to always carry a small fuel can with me and used it and still ran out... raptor always made it back to the truck/fuel station without problem Quote
swhitey917 Posted March 27, 2009 Author Report Posted March 27, 2009 Sorry to keep bringing up the raptor, but he wants to know if they are a good bike or not. he rides a lot of trails and hills with me and jumps a little to. he just dosen't want a banshee because of the fuel they eat. what are your guys thought on the raptor performance wise. Ineedmoney Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 So basically he dont want a fourwheeler tht you canmake faster then any other fourwheeler cuz it cost a little extra bit of money in gas. raptor 660 used = 3 or more thousand banshee with pipes - 1800 - 2000 And gas is what he is worried about? He is trading his dirtbike and a few other things for one. Quote
spike Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 tell him to get it and enjoy it, they are all around trail bike and its the exact riding style yamaha build them to do. there's better stuff out there but there is also a lot worse. Quote

So my question is how much better on gas is the 660 raptor compared to a banshee with fmf pipes, air filter, thats pretty much it. way better my buddy can ride alot longer on his raptor than me on my banshee and he might have a smaller tank as well. as for the 660 raptor im not a big fan of them they seem to have problems however the new 700 raptors are real nice. another one of my buddies bought one a yr ago and still loves it. sweet bike Quote
grizzly700 Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 i would assume the raptors are alot better on gas because my grizzly 700 is 850lbs and it is still better on gas than my little banshee and all it has is T-5s, vforce2's, 28pwk's and pods, +4 timming. it drinks gas like a fish. lol kinda Quote

GrMeyer Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 got an 05 660 raptor 07 700r raptor and a 98 banshee. the banshee is the worst, then it the 660 raptor then the 700r for gas. But then it all depends on how it is being riden. For the dune I always have to carry about 2 gals of gas for the banshee in the rhino or a rail but if I ride the raptors im good for the trip out and back. Quote
jbooker82 Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 My raptor is great on gas compaird to my banshee. I can ride about all day on 2 tanks of fuel with my raptor. It does have a little bigger tank than the banshee too. josh Quote
Animalman294 Posted March 27, 2009 Report Posted March 27, 2009 In general thats the difference between the four stroke and two strokes is the fuel consumption..... The banshee uses 2-5x's the fuel depending on the riding style of both riders. I can go out and use a tank in less than an hour, but just cruising the sand I can make it last for 2-3 hours (putting around the trails). I can also go out on my raptor and blow through a tank in 2 hours or cruise and make it last several hours. Too many variables here, kinda like which banshee is faster this one with these mods or that one with those mods........... Quote
