deerekillr Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) I was just able to pick up a basically new R6 rear shock for peanuts and figured I might try it on the Shee. Is this strictly a flat track mod or are there others using this with some 300EX fronts to lower there bike and ride trails or climb hills? I know i will be killing my ground clearance but my rear shock is junk and was looking for a cheap alternative. Can I possibly make up for this with tire size. I'm running 18's now and get hung up on the swing arm skid plate alot so I was thinking of going up a size or two there. Sorry, posted this in the wrong topic. Home sick from work and not all therejava script:add_smilie("","smid_31") Edited March 20, 2009 by deerekillr Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 rear shocks are a dime a dozen. i would stick with a banshee shock, not a r6 shock. Quote
sheefreak Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 The R6 shock is mainly good for when you extend your swinger out quite a ways. It is valved stiff enough for a +8 or +10 swinger. If you ever tried to put a stock shock on one of these longer swingers, you would know what I am talking about. I tried a stocker on a +10 and it was so soft my ass would damn near hit the ground when I launched. It does lower your bike, but there are several ways to take care of that if need be. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 The R6 is good for drag racing on smooth dirt. It is way to stiff to ride in the trails, and it will lower your bike to much. Quote
