Need quiet exhaust, anything better than stock?

Just bought an '05 SE Banshee (stock exhaust but motor is 0.50 over) and I am wondering if there is anything exhaust wise I can do to increase low-end but quiet it down as much as possible. I am using my Banshee for hunting and prefer to be as quiet as possible as not to piss off the other guys I leased property with.

 

Low-end power is more important for me right now.

 

Also, I want to increase ground clearence in the back. Can I just put a taller tire on it and compensate with a sprocket?

Never seen a banshee on a hunting trip, but it will work! I would just gear it, I guess! and yes you could get some taller tires and maybe set the shock a little stiffer.

I wouldn't use it for hunting trips.. nobody makes a hush kit for the stock pipes, they do for some aftermarket ones though.

That's because you don't know where I'll be riding. Mostly fire roads and some narrow stuff, but no need for a 4x4. I want something fast for when I am not hunting but in no way can I justify 2 ATVs.

You can buy a set of pt mids and csfx silencers from cascade. The pipes will actually ping louder than the sound that comes out the silencer ends.

snopczynski, dont you have a 2 into one exhaust? its pretty quiet i like the way it sounds.

What the hell has that thing been through? .50 over on a stock '05? You may want to check to see if there is any packing left in the silencers. Are the baffles still bolted to the ends of the silencers?

I would think that if you decide on aftermarket exhaust why not consider just keeping the stockers just for hunting season as they are very quiet as compared to aftermarket exausts that I have heard.

 

Put on the aftermarket exhausts for other times.

 

The gearing I also would think would help a lot.

I hunt deer and Duck all the time.

I use my old truck and would never consider an ATV as they rattle the game with the low muffler vibrations.(4 stroke)

When I go out its dark in the AM, when I return its dark again.

The truck has all the equip I need with lights, and all field dressing gear.

I average 4 deer per year out of Segovia Texas.

They practically run out in front of my rifle and beg to be shot as there are so many deer there.

Your case may be different (mountains etc...)

 

In your case I would re-think the whole thing and maybe even rent yourself a utility ATV for the hunt.

Its worth checking out if you dont go hunting but a few times per year.

Plus after renting a few times your wife may let you get a utility ATV and let you keep your Banshee.

 

Worth a shot anyhow.

 

Even a stock piped Banshee is fast for winter fun during hunting season.

I have a LARGE backpack (framed) that my rifle and all needed gear fit into, I am going to do a rack on the back for the deer. Deer in my neck of the woods rarely get to 170lbs dressed and if I get one that big I can call a buddy with a utility ATV. I am also considering leaving my bicycle about 3/4 mile from my blind and driving the Banshee to that point and then riding in on the MTB. There are LOTS of deer on the 3,000 acres, I will take my 4 does and probably 1 or 2 bucks (8pt or better only).

 

It breaks down to this: I can only have one ATV and I want a Banshee so I'll make it work.

You know what I mean about the packing and baffles? Repack 'em, that's about as quiet as your gonna get.

2 into 1 pipes are not low-mid pipes. People need to Understand this! They are by far not quiet either. I dont run one anymore. I have Pro Circuits now. Those are much better low-mid pipes compared to a 2 into 1 exhaust.
