What the fuck?! Do you want us to help you fix your Banshee, or are you gonna keep arguing with him? Quit sweatin it. Now go to your Banshee, check the breather hoses, and the water impeller shaft and seal. Then, holler back. And while you're in the garage, drink a beer.

Drain the coolant system. Just pop off the lower radiator hose, where it goes into the clutch cover. Take the 3 phillips head screws out of the plastic water pump cover, that's bolted to the clutch cover. Then take the 5 phillips head screws out of the other impeller cover. You're probably gonna need an impact driver. Try to save this gasket. If it rips, get a new one. Tip the bike up on it's side, at about a 45* angle. Take the clutch cover off. You can re-use that gasket. From the back side of the cover, use a flathead screwdriver to take off the e-clip that's holding on the white plastic gear. Take off the washer, then pull off the gear. Pull the impeller out from the front side. Check the shaft on it. If it has a groove in it, then replace it. You might as well go ahead and replace the seal while you're in there. So, I wouldn't even worry about inspecting it. Just replace it.

yes, an impact driver is very important when removing most philips head screws on the shee...

also, the "heat the bearing, freeze the case" thing is wrong...

heat makes things expand, cold makes things contract. if your trying to do this trick to install the new impeller bearing you would need to freeze the bearing and heat up the clutch cover.

i personaly have never had to freeze/heat anything to do this, just tap out the old bearing and tap the new one in.

the trick is tapping in the new seal, just make sure it's squared up when you drive it in...

You can also put a check valve cap on your breather hoses. they'll allow fluid or air to escape, but not enter the cases.

Kinda like the one in a stock gas cap....

Though I really doubt that's the issue....I agree on the water pump seal.

While you're at it, remove the water pump and check the fins/blades on it.

The plastic ones are known to wear and start breaking/chipping apart. If you show any signs of this, pickup a billet impeller.
