ledofthezep Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 I assume you did change your jetting with the new pipes? They don't glow red when you ride do they? Quote
PACIFIC NW BANSHEE Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 (edited) I guy i worked with a few years back said when his pipes were new he had them ceramic coated on the inside to keep heat down and the blueing .Now i dont know how true this is to me it seems like it would be hard to get a good coating inside ?? okbeast Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 In my opinion blueing is natural, even with a good plug chop I've always had my pipes blue... Quote
R. Rollins Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 I read an article the other day that said that in order to delay of lessen the blueing effect, one must run a richer fuel mixture to keep the heat down. Just what I read ....but who knows. Blueing to me just means its fast. keep them clean and dont worry. Quote

I tried a version of that. I read somewhere to clean the insides with oven cleaner and spray the high temp rattle can paint inside the flange to prevent blueing. At the time I had brand new T5s and I didnt want them to blue...they did. Quote
