bassmaster345 Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Well I picked up my first banshee today  . It is a '89 with some port work done by Trinity, cool head and FMF Gold pipes. Can't wait to get it out and do some riding! Quote
T_Shee Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 looks good. welcome to the site. wonder what kinda porting it is? Quote
bassmaster345 Posted March 2, 2009 Author Report Posted March 2, 2009 Not for sure on the porting, the guy I bought it off of couldn't tell me what all they ( Trinity) did to it. Quote
R. Rollins Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 WELCOME TO THE SHEE>>>>>ZONE Your bike looks outstanding for an old Banshee. Wow its in great condition. Clean her up, do all your maintenance, oil the chain, and lub up the chassis. Check her carbs for sync and jetting. Change the oil and have some fun.......ya got to have a maintenance baseline, before ya ride. Go to the video section and at teh top there is a video on carb sync. Have fun man Quote
bassmaster345 Posted March 3, 2009 Author Report Posted March 3, 2009 I have a question, my factory kill switch has been disconnected, should I hook it back up or is there a aftermarket one everyone uses? Quote
R. Rollins Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 I have my kill switch disconnected as well. I have a disconnect cord connected to it instead. When I dune I ride like a raped ape. If it ever got away from me It will kill the engine at least. Quote
bassmaster345 Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Posted March 4, 2009 Well I took the carbs off and cleaned them up and re-jetted, drained the fuel and put some fresh in, lubed up the chassis. I also found out why it would not run worth a crap, the previous owner didn't have the hose connecting the two carbs together( I guess it is the choke tube). Now it starts right up on the first or second kick  . I also put in a new set of plugs. Should I be running the NGK B-7 or the B-8 plugs? It had B-7's in it so that is what I got. Quote
