skinindustries Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 ok when i start my banshee it will spit and backfire out of the right side and today it shot a flame out of the pipe so i shut it down and didnt start it again. thats problem number 1. problem number 2 is my shifter shaft that flat head bolt you guys showed me is gone i guess when the guy that had it before me wrecked the motor and it snapped off. well what i am getting at is when i go to shift it it will only catch the shift star with the bottom on the prong thing you shift with is that normal?? i was just goin to buy a brand new one would that fixthe problem? It never runs right, I cant get the shifter shit fixed, And everytime i start it it will backfire like crazy... I am tired of dumping money into it. I have already put about 500 bucks into it and it still dont run right.... Quote

I did a full engine rebuild everything!! i made sure everything was good and gapped and spaced everything.. It just seems that it will start and run ok one day then not want to start and run like shit the next. I have been working on it everyday for almost 2 months.. I get one thing fixed then something else breaks, It's like i get one step further then take 3 steps back. I am going to order a new shifter shaft, modded shift star and a new eccentric screw,washer and jamb nut. if this does'nt fix my shifter i dont know what else to do besides take it to a mechanic and have him fix everything.
